The Bangladesh ECD Network (BEN) is a forum of stakeholders, including government, non-governmental, and international organizations, working in early childhood development (ECD). The goal of BEN is to support and encourage organizations, agencies, and institutions in building commitment and generating investment in children’s optimal and holistic development in Bangladesh. The idea of BEN originated in 2002 as an activity of the UNICEF-funded ECD project under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA). However, BEN was formally launched on 7 September 2005. The BRAC Institute of Educational Development (BRAC IED) has served as the Secretariat of BEN since its formal inception.
